Cello 2024, Personal Model, XVII Triennale Violin Making Competition
This cello has taken part in the XVII Triennale Violin Making Competition, held in september 2024 in Cremona. It took me several months of study to develop this model, and more than a year and a half to build. This cello has a powerful, dark and harmonic sound. The top plate is made of the best spruce from the italian north eastern Alps, and its grain has “bear claws”. The maple for the two pieces back, ribs and neck comes from the balkan forests, and it has a beautiful deep flaming. It has dyneema tailgut and carbon fiber endpin.

Violin 2024, Guarneri del Gesù
The “Leduc”has been a challenge for me: the unusual scroll and the f-hole placement forced me to concentrate even more on the aesthetic and acoustic result. Working on it has been a lot of fun, and the effort has paid off!

Violin 2023, Guarneri del Gesù
Based largely on the Ysaÿe violin made in 1740, this instrument represents the starting point of a personal acoustic research, in the effort of interpreting the research that Guarneri himself conducted in the first half of 1700s. The evolution of his instruments makes me think that he was looking for a particolar sound he had in mind.

Violin 2023, Strad “Toscano” 1690, XVII Pisogne Violin Making Competition
Made after the Stradivari “Toscano” 1690 model, this violin took part in the XVII Pisogne International Violin Making Competition, held in June 2023. The top plate is made of the best spruce from the italian north eastern Alps. It has a very regular and straight grain. The maple for the one piece back, ribs and neck comes from the balkan forests, and it has a beautiful deep flaming. On my instruments I use only top quality amber varnish, it’s tough and flexible, and it brings the best out of the wood, both in terms of sound and refraction.
